Maggie & Jason

I’ve known Ms. Maggie for a few years, so when she asked Milestones to photograph her wedding I was beyond thrilled. Maggie has a great way about her: smiley, positive and always fun to be around. Maggie and Jason are a great match and we are so happy they let us document their wedding.

The intimate wedding was held on Sky Prairie (the rooftop of the Hotel Donaldson) with a reception at the HoDo Restaurant in downtown Fargo.

Anybody who has been married in Cass County (North Dakota) knows you get this fine gift of beef coupons and recipes from the District 7 Cattlewomen.

Oh, and did I mention there were Zombies?

Milestoners try Fleischkeuchle

Yesterday, the Milestones crew ventured to downtown Fargo to try the Bison Fleishkeuchle special at the HoDo. If you’re not from central North Dakota (which, by the way, none of our crew is), you may not know anything about this German dish. According to Wikipedia: Fleischkuekle is a type of meat pie made with flat bread, similar to a Cornish pasty, or Russian vareniki. The dish is traditional German Russian recipe, and through immigration became an addition to the Cuisine of North Dakota. It is also spelled Fleischkuechle.

So, yes, we ate this. And it was good. You too can have some Fleishkeuchle as it is on special until tomorrow at the HoDo.

Dave & Sarah were the only brave people to have their meat pie with sauerkraut.

On another note, the Milestones crew has grown a bit over the past few weeks. Pictured here is our lovely Penny (far left) with new intern Ben Green and super-duper helper employee (who will replace me during my maternity leave) Ann Arbor Miller (far right). Ann Arbor just had a bite of some SUPER HOT Spicy Red Pepper soup.

Peggy and Ryan had a small, intimate ceremony at the HoDo recently. It’s such a fun, relaxed location and that really translates over to the photos. The reception at the Plains was great (of course) and everyone danced the night away.

We are a full-service operation here at Milestones. That’s me in the foreground (in the ladies room) getting Peggy bustled because nobody else could figure it out. I have yet to be defeated by a bustle!

Erin & Leif

They liked each other in high school but never dated, lost touch after graduation and, thanks to the Internet, found each other some years later.

Taa-da! Love!

That’s the short version of the Erin and Leif’s story that culminated in their recent wedding at Sky Prairie on top of the HoDo with a super, classic-film themed reception at the Plains Art Museum (Leif is a film maker, afterall).

Lauren & Bryan’s wonderful Friday July wedding could not have been more memorable. They started off getting ready at the Hotel Donaldson… downtown… during the Fargo Street Fair, which, if as some of you may know, is the busiest downtown event of the summer! Their wedding was held at Peace Lutheran, just a hop skip and jump away from downtown… and their reception was at the beautiful Avalon Event Center, also downtown. Dave and I (as well as then entire wedding party and guests!) weathered the crazy downtown traffic and the constant fragrance of fried food to celebrate an awesome wedding day for an awesome couple!

The Hotel Donaldson was the perfect setting for Bekah and Joe’s intimate wedding. The large windows in the restaurant-turned-ceremony-site cast beautiful light on the service and the decor was a great backdrop.
