We’re stilling recovering from the Saturday’s explosion of energy that was Sara and Matt’s wedding. The bridal party was dancing on the trolley before they even turned on the music and the rest of the night was a shout-out-loud good time with Dueling Pianos at the dance.

Congrats Sara and Matt!

BRIDES Magazine Contest Winner…Again!

For the second year in a row a Milestoner has placed first in the BRIDES Magazine/WPJA international photo contest!

Britta placed in last year’s contest and now a photo of Dave’s won first place in the Bride and Groom category for 2010. The photo of super-couple Laura and Reid is one of only 10 images to be published in the current issue of BRIDES Magazine or online at Brides.com. The contest was open to Wedding Photojournalist Association photographers around the globe and the first-place images were selected from over 3,200 entries.

First Place – Bride and Groom

“In the middle of a chaotic day, the couple found the time to steal a few seconds for themselves. The sweet kiss on the end of her nose, her lace veil, his wedding ring—they tell the story of the day in a single close-up. A dramatic snapshot like this works best in black-and-white.”

It’s an honor to represent North Dakota and the entire upper midwest with our award winning work. Other winners of the annual contest spanned the globe from New York to Milan and Moscow.

We’re so lucky to be able to do what we do. We get to hang out with awesome people, they give us great moments like this and we get to tell their stories. Who wouldn’t love it?

Thanks to all our fantastic clients that help make us a worldwide top-10 WPJA studio!

Amanda and Matthew

Wow,  it certainly has been a long time since we’ve posted a wedding on the blog! We have had a very busy fall and early winter here at Milestones and have lots, and lots, and lots to blog about in the next few weeks.

One of my favorite things about being a photographer is the relationships I form while doing my job. There is no doubt that I consider Amanda and Matt friends after photographing their September wedding. They are such a cool couple, full of utmost love and respect for each other. They have a great sense of humor, fantastic taste (hello? the grey and yellow color palette was superb!) and warmest spirit. Their wedding day matched them perfectly and it’s clear that they are loved by their friends and family.

I started off with Amanda at the Hotel Donaldson in Fargo. The very talented Melissa Mercedes transformed already gorgeous Amanda into a beautiful, modern bride.

Meanwhile, Dave photographed the groom who was getting ready at his brother’s house in Moorhead. Isn’t their pup Lincoln the cutest? Believe it or not, Lincoln is still a puppy!

Before heading over to the church in Moorhead, I had a quick portrait session with the ladies downtown. Again, isn’t Amanda gorgeous?

Amanda and Matt were married at Triumph Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. The couple had decided not to see each other before the ceremony, so emotions were flying high pre ceremony. It  made for a fantastic moment when Amanda walked down the aisle and they saw each other for the first time that day.

Their celebration was held at the Plain Art Museum in downtown Fargo. We took a few minutes before the reception to take a few portraits downtown then headed to the Plains for a fantastic night of food and fun.

Congrats Amanda and Matt!

Lane obviously didn’t have his portrait session within the last couple of weeks – no snow on the ground! However it was a great fall morning when we met up for some photos of him and his pup. They are a great couple of buddies and were really fun to photograph.
