Heidi & Drew

Gorgeous is the main word that comes in mind when I think of Heidi & Drew’s winter wedding. Gorgeous couple, gorgeous wedding party, flowers, ceremony, gorgeous reception…. gorgeous all around! And even though it was really, really, cold outside, Heidi and Drew braved the North Dakota climate is sneak outside for one or two portraits. They are both gorgeous and hardy.

Penny and I had a great time documenting their wedding at First Lutheran Church in downtown Fargo. The reception was held at the (gorgeous) Fargo Country Club.

Drew (and his family) own Corwin Automotive Group in Fargo… so, of course, autos were represented.

Great locations all around for Katherine and Mark’s wedding day – Hotel Donaldson, St. Joe’s and the Plains Art Museum. Just a great winter wedding.

The Photography of Wayne Gudmundson

MSUM photo professor Wayne Gudmundson has photographed the beauty of North Dakota for years and taught students about the art of photography even longer. In the photo above he is surrounded by just a few of the many students he’s sent off into the world.

Tonight (Tuesday, February 16) at 7:00pm Central Prairie Public Television is airing a biography about Wayne and his work – A Considered View: The Photography of Wayne Gudmundson. Be sure to tune in and learn about what he photographs and why he does it. (Dave was lucky enough to be interviewed for the documentary!)

It’s beautifully shot in HD and well worth 30 minutes of your time. Be sure to keep watching and see a re-airing of A Photographer’s View of Iceland which follows Wayne as he photographs his ancestral homeland.

Lynn & Briar

Saturday isn’t the only day for weddings anymore. With competition for ceremony and reception venues we see more Friday and sometimes Sunday weddings. Lynn and Briar were our first ever Monday wedding right after Christmas.

Lynn was gorgeous in her simple dress and Briar added a lot of personality to the standard tux. Warm light flooded Trinity Lutheran during the ceremony which was a real bonus for a winter wedding. The reception at the NDSU Alumni Center was very intimate – it felt more like a fun family dinner than 200 person party.

It was a great day – thanks for letting us be a part of it, Lynn and Briar.
