Class of 2011: Taylor

Taylor’s warm smile and laid back attitude made her a pure joy to photograph a few weeks back.

She really wanted to get some nice autumn photos, and luckily the day of her session was absolutely gorgeous! We headed to the very simple Armour Park in West Fargo.

Class of 2011: Dane

I had a fantastic time photographing Dane. Not only was he completely comfortable in front of the camera (sometimes a rarity for guys) but he took direction extremely well. Dane plays baseball and basketball, so we made sure to bring those elements into his photos.

I have seen a whole lot of Cody lately. We met up three separate times for his graduate portraits… first at the studio, then downtown and last at the WF Hockey arena. I also saw Cody a few weeks ago at his sister Amanda’s wedding! Wowee! That’s a lot of Cody

A couple years ago, Kayla visited the Milestones Photography studio as a high school job shadower. This year, Kayla is graduating from high school and visited us for some fun graduate portraits. Kayla is absolutely stunning and her fantastic personality made the session super fun.

Wade

Red guitar, orange boots and an Iron Maiden t-shirt – Wade was ready for his senior session. The only thing that made the morning better was the discovery that he’s a Rush fan too! (That’s the band, not the blowhard.) I was so happy because this was the first time I was able to play Rush during a senior session – I have hope for the future!

…but I digress.

We had a great time in the studio and some local outdoor locations. That red guitar is a great contrast to the ourdoor colors.

Tayla & Devin

Last fall, I took Tayla’s graduate photographs (curious? check them out here). Tayla is a natural in front of the camera and such a joy to photograph. So, naturally, I was pretty thrilled to photograph her and her brother for a fun sibling portrait session. Like his sister, Devin doesn’t lack any personality. We all had a pretty good time, including their mom DeAnn who made a brief appearance at the end of the shoot.

Tayla graduates this weekend and we here at Milestones congratulate her and all the 2010 graduates.

It came to our attention last year that many high schools have a senior advertisement section in their yearbooks. Although many students (or parents of students) usually put photos of themselves as wee babies, we’d thought we would give students the opportunity to get some great portraits with their best friends to put in the section. Laurel

Oh, I just get luckier and luckier every year when it comes to graduates! Despite my long leave this summer, I’ve had some pretty stellar graduates this fall.

Laurel is a super awesome young lady who LOVES to shop, collect head bands and hang out with her adorable Sheltie. We had a great November day to take a few pictures in downtown Fargo. We eventually made our way to the studio in West Fargo.

Elle

Well, after a month of rescheduling due to bad October weather and the H1N1 flu, I finally had the chance to meet beautiful Elle. I love people with kind eyes, and Elle definitely has them, along with a wonderful kind personality. We split the session into two which gave Elle and a chance to have both curly and straight hair in the pictures. It’s remarkable how a little thing like hair can make a photograph have a such a different feel.
