Tayla & Devin

Last fall, I took Tayla’s graduate photographs (curious? check them out here). Tayla is a natural in front of the camera and such a joy to photograph. So, naturally, I was pretty thrilled to photograph her and her brother for a fun sibling portrait session. Like his sister, Devin doesn’t lack any personality. We all had a pretty good time, including their mom DeAnn who made a brief appearance at the end of the shoot.

Tayla graduates this weekend and we here at Milestones congratulate her and all the 2010 graduates.

It came to our attention last year that many high schools have a senior advertisement section in their yearbooks. Although many students (or parents of students) usually put photos of themselves as wee babies, we’d thought we would give students the opportunity to get some great portraits with their best friends to put in the section. So, introducing the first ever Celebrate Friendship event! It’s one day only and space is limited, so call soon to book your appointment. Free to our 2010 graduates only.

Laurel

Oh, I just get luckier and luckier every year when it comes to graduates! Despite my long leave this summer, I’ve had some pretty stellar graduates this fall.

Laurel is a super awesome young lady who LOVES to shop, collect head bands and hang out with her adorable Sheltie. We had a great November day to take a few pictures in downtown Fargo. We eventually made our way to the studio in West Fargo.

Elle

Well, after a month of rescheduling due to bad October weather and the H1N1 flu, I finally had the chance to meet beautiful Elle. I love people with kind eyes, and Elle definitely has them, along with a wonderful kind personality. We split the session into two which gave Elle and a chance to have both curly and straight hair in the pictures. It’s remarkable how a little thing like hair can make a photograph have a such a different feel.

Audrey

Stunning Audrey has one of those faces that can express any feeling… happiness, sadness, contentment, joy. It’s no wonder she enjoys acting, and it was really fun to photograph her “at work” as Tinkerbell in Moorhead High School’s Peter Pan. Prior to her performance (and Red hair), I photographed Audrey for her graduate portraits both at the studio and her childhood home in the country. Audrey is so expressive, she made by job a breeze and I really enjoyed my time photographing her.

And, of course, I had to get some portraits of Audrey with that great red hair and costume.

Once in awhile, we are lucky enough to photograph high school seniors doing what they do best. I’ve photographed a swimmer, a ballet dancer and now an actress. This Sunday, I took pictures of Audrey during a matinee performance of Peter Pan at Moorhead High School. I was blown away by their production. It was probably one of the best high school plays I’ve ever seen. Audrey made an adorable and spunky Tinkerbell, and it was really fun to watch her fly through the air. Kudos to the stage hands who, at times, risk a kick in the face.

Next weekend is your last chance to see Peter Pan at MHS. I totally recommend going… and I might even see you there!

Nicholas

I had a great time photographing Nicholas for his graduate portraits a few weeks ago. Nicholas is such a laid back guy who loves folk music (Justin Townes Earle!), playing his guitar and wearing his awesome brown jacket and moccasins. We started off in the studio then went downtown to brave the cold October weather. He stopped by a week or so ago to finish up his session and we headed to Armour Park here in West Fargo to snap a few outdoorsy pics.

Beautiful, funky, energetic Tayla was the first portrait session I had since coming back to Milestones from maternity leave. What a great person to rejuvenate me after a long hiatus! We had a great time in the studio, and super brave Tayla dealt wonderfully with the cold, wet October weather to get some awesome photographs in downtown Fargo.

Mara is a talented athlete that was in recently for a senior session. She had some really fun outfits and access to her dad’s office for some really cool backgrounds. Love that smile!
